RADIO Grapevine in St John's Hospital will welcome Santa and his elves on Christmas Day to bring some festive cheer to patients.

West Lothian's award-winning hospital radio station is taking Christmas into the wards to cheer up those spending time in the Livingston hospital over the festive period.

Father Christmas will arrive mid-morning after all his deliveries to drop off more gifts and his elves will collect song requests to play on the live Christmas Day shows by dedicated volunteers.

Station chairman Grant McNaughton said: "We see helping Santa at this time of year as fundamental to the service we provide to the patients, staff and wider community.

"It's just something you might not expect from a hospital radio station, but we are committed to our listeners, patients, staff, their family and friends."
