GOING green has helped a West Lothian primary school achieve a gold award.

As recognition for their outdoor efforts, Polkemmet Primary School in Whitburn has been presented with the award from the Green Tree Schools initiative.

The Woodland Trust scheme offers schools the chance to bring the great outdoors, the wonderful world of wildlife and green issues into the classroom.
