All going on at the Regal

IT'S ALL happening at the Regal Theatre in Bathgate over the next week with an eclectic mix of shows.

Scottish Pink Floyd tribute act, MacFloyd are appearing on Saturday night playing all the band's biggest hits from The Wall to Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

The eight-piece band have grown from strength to strength over the last decade and are now regarded as one of the best tribute bands in the world.

With a line-up of talented musicians and singers, an impressive light show and MacFloyd's experience and enthusiasm, it promises to leave the audience Comfortably Numb.

Show starts 8pm, tickets 10.

The Bathgate Regal Film Society is showing Looking for Eric, directed by the acclaimed Ken Loach.

The 122-minute film centres on postman Eric (Steve Evets), who is in crisis. His wife has left him, his two stepsons are out of control and he is contemplating suicide.

Who else does a football fan turn to in his time of need but the great French footballer, Eric Cantona? A warm, funny, uplifting story.

Film starts at 7:30pm. Details from Gail Whyte on 01506 652623. Guest tickets 3.50.

The theatre is also presenting its very own comedy show Live At The Regal next Friday, 23 April in its stylish bar & cafe with some great Scottish on show in an intimate setting.

Gary & Stu, Scotland's only full-time improv troupe, combine their unique and successful style of comedy with games, new formats and special guest performers.

In short, it's improv improved. Established audience favourites such as Half Life (a one-minute scene repeated again in 30 seconds, then 15 seconds, then 7, 3 and finally 1 second), will be joined by skewed views of up-to-the-minute news and opportunities for audience interaction.

Stuart Murphy has been performing comedy for ten years in Scotland and enjoys a residency at The Stand as part of the popular Whose Lunch Is It Anyway? show.

Stuart's performances have included stints with the Bedlam Improverts and the acclaimed Fringe show The Melting Plot, and also lunchtime favourite Free and Easy.

Garry Dobson has been performing since 1990, with performances in both theatre and improv, including Guardian short-listed plays Making Love and Feel Real with Prominent Theatre as well as The Improverts, End Of The Line, and a regular in Whose Lunch Is It Anyway?

Tickets are 5, show starts 7.30pm. Call 01506 630085 for more details.
