Blind Dogs kick off folk bash

THE annual Linlithgow Folk Festival has kicked off with one of the country's most highly rated traditional bands headlining its showpiece concert this weekend.

The award-winning Old Blind Dogs will play the town's Academy Theatre on Saturday as the highlight of the five-day festival, which started yesterday.

The programme for the festival includes concerts, an outdoor ceilidh at the Vennel, an open stage for budding performers, musical cruises and sessions at the Union Canal centre, singing and instrument workshops, Bluegrass music and sessions in local pubs.

A 12-page full colour Festival Guide is available from local outlets or downloaded from the Linlithgow Folk Festival website www.linlithgowfolk.com
