Deans pupils turn back the clock to mark 80s
THERE was a High School Musical with an eighties twist in Deans recently as pupils staged a play to celebrate the colourful era.
Back To The 80s was performed over three nights to sell-out crowds at Deans Community High School by its pupils and some from the school's catchment primaries.
English, art and design and music teachers from the high school joined pupils in the production of the play and worked hard over six months to produce a high-quality show which wowed the audiences.
The school's Alison McCormack said: "Pupils and staff were all involved in the production and this was a great opportunity to develop cross-curricular links.
"Everyone worked hard for the last six months in order to prepare for the show and the hard work certainly paid off as the show went off with a bang.
"All four of our feeder primaries Meldrum, Deans, Carmondean and Knightsridge were involved, which was a great transition project for the students.
"This is the first show that has taken place in Deans High School for a good number of years and there is certainly the appetite for it.
"All the student involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we will certainly be looking to stage a another show in the near future."
