Players in double bill
THE Livingston Players drama group is performing a double bill of two very different plays next week.
From Thursday to Saturday, the talented group will multi-task to take on the rigours of two shows each night in the Brian Duguid Auditorium in Howden Park Centre.
The shows will be covering very different subjects on the sexes.
Testosterone-fuelled Bouncers, written by John Godber, looks at a night out on the town from a doorman's perspective.
It's disco night. All over town the preparations start early when hair is gelled back, outfits are selected and handbags are at the ready.
Down at the disco, the DJ croons into his microphone, while on the dance floor the clubbers gyrate to the pulsing beat.
Outside, watching, waiting and ever ready, stand Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph.
The other show is Womberang, penned by Sue Townsend – writer of the infamous Secret Diary of Adrian Mole – which has been described as a "riot" for everyone.
It's a hilarious tale of a group of women who meet in the gynaecology clinic of an NHS hospital and takes a satirical swipe at everything from doctors to dentures and men to menopause.
The shows start at 7:30pm each night from 28-30 January. Tickets are 10 on 01506 777666.
