Tribute act will make town rock

ONE of the UK's finest rock tribute acts are set to bring the house down at West Lothian's premiere arts venue.

Top Led Zeppelin tribute band Led Astray are visiting Livingston's Howden Park Centre next Saturday.

The West Lothian-based group pride themselves on capturing the live essence of arguably the world's greatest ever rock act, and have played venues ranging from small clubs right up to Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

Support on the night comes from rising stars of the local music scene, The Black Lights, who recently launched their album Rock Awesome on a nationwide tour.

Their impressive live performances have led to them supporting rock legends Anvil and Gun recently, and they were also crowned the winners at the Classic Rock magazine battle of the bands last year.

Led Astray guitarist Neil Humphrey, from Bathgate, said: "Howden Park is an excellent venue and we're looking forward to putting on a special concert for all our loyal West Lothian fans.

"It's a different kind of venue than we normally play, so we have a surprise or two lined up for our fans to mark the occasion.

"We don't get to play to our home crowd as often as we'd like, so we'll be going all out on 4 September to deliver Led Zep classics like Whole Lotta Love and Stairway to Heaven with all the skill, feel and passion that the original band were famous for.

"Last year's show in Bathgate sold out so unfortunately people had to be turned away on the night so it's worthwhile booking tickets early to avoid disappointment."

He added: "We're delighted to be supported on the night by the Black Lights.

"They have a deserved reputation as one of the best live bands around, not just in the Lothians but around the UK.

"It's a night that local rock fans can't miss."

Tickets for the show cost 12 (9 concessions) and are available from.howdenparkcentre.co.uk or by calling 01506 777666. The show starts at 7:30pm.
