£6,600 raised for children's trust

A LEADING IT company based in West Lothian has raised £6,600 for a children's hospital trust through a series of events.

Employees of Atos Origin in Livingston devoted more than 1,000 hours to raising money for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation (SKFF), which included voluntary work in Eliburn's Sunndach Children's Respite Home.

The money was raised through competitions, raffles, World Cup predictions and social events, sky diving, sponsored cycles and competing in the Edinburgh Marathon.

Steve Langmead, vice president of Atos Origin in Scotland, said: "We are pleased that our people can help to make a difference to families' lives in the local community."

Maureen Harrison, chief executive of SKFF, added: "We are grateful for such a significant donation from a local business."
