APPEAL: Clever Cassie needs a home
AN APPEAL has been launched for a new home for an "insecure" beardie cross lurcher called Cassie.
Staff at the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in West Calder say three-year-old Cassie is a very clever dog who is friendly to people and loves attention.
Cassie came from another rescue home and is insecure and upset from the disruptions in her life and needs a home who can allow her to settle and feel at ease.
Centre manager Susan Tonner said: "Cassie needs a quiet home with no young children and owners who are used to beardies or lurchers and enjoy the mischief and cleverness of these breeds.
"She can be sociable with other dogs but would prefer to live as the only dog in the house as she likes her bed and toys to be her own and is not keen on sharing.
"Cassie can be protective of her lady owner at first until she has settled.
"For this reason she needs a calm and understaning home. She is house-trained, happy home alone and loves to travel in the car and absolutely loves her walks."
Cassie is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and comes with insurance and free behavioural advice.

The centre is also looking for raffle donations, bottles and prizes for its annual fun day on 22 August.
The fun day is a great day out for all the family, two and four-legged. Attractions include a fun dog show, agility, doggy dash, funfair, stalls and competitions. Entry is free and the event runs from noon until 3pm at West Lothian College, Livingston.
