Art group's donation captures area's spirit

A GROUP of generous artists from a county support group have donated another of their paintings to a national heritage site.

The art group at Blackburn Support Services have given the New Lanark World Heritage Site a painting inspired by a cultural visit to the facility.

The group's manager Joe Hawthorn said: "Members of the art group were so impressed by their visit there that they came up with the idea of creating a painting which captured the essence of their visit to New Lanark."

He added: "The Trust was very happy to accept the painting from the art group and the painting will be hung in the cafeteria area there where visitors can view the artwork."
