Bathgate Gala cash boost

BATHGATE Procession committee for the town's forthcoming gala day has thanked local residents for helping to raise thousands of pounds for the big day.

A massive 5,640.66 was raised from a recent door-to-door collection in the town, which will go towards funding activities for the June gala day.

Committee secretary and Bathgate councillor Jim Walker said: "I'd to thank the Bathgate community for their generous donations, which shows just how much people support the Procession."

Groups, organisations and individuals can still book stall space for the Street Fair, which takes place on Saturday, May 30.

The committee is also searching for nominations for the John Hardy Award and the John Hunter Memorial Medal.
