Fundraiser Paul loses 40 pounds

A BLACKBURN man who weighed almost 20 stones has lost 40lb in his bid to raise cash for a cancer charity.

Paul Boyle topped the scales at 19st 2lb, but slimmed down to an incredible 16st 5lb in the run-up to the 10km Great Scottish Run, which he did for charity Macmillan Cancer Support last Sunday.

The 37-year-old was among thousands of runners participating in the Glasgow event last weekend after seeing his aunty die from cancer.

Paul said: "I actually decided to take on the challenge initially to lose weight, but when I realised I could raise money for Macmillan at the same time, I decided to go for it."
