New community council set up

BROXBURN now has a community council following the election of new office bearers.

The newly formed group is now appealing for local residents to become involved in decisions that will affect the town's future in relation to major new planning developments.

Broxburn area councillor Ellen Glass said: "This is great news for the town of Broxburn. I have been very aware that we in Broxburn were the only one in our ward without a community council."

The first meeting of the group is to be held on Monday, 30 August at 7pm in the Old Town Centre building next to Greggs.

Office bearers are Chairman Tom Roy; Vice chairman Jack McLaren; Treasurer Dorothy Knox; Secretary Eugene Bradley; and Jim Anderson.
