Bollan is happy with double-quick Livingston
LIVINGSTON manager Gary Bollan praised his players for opening a three-point gap at the top of the Third Division in double-quick time.
Striker Robbie Winters set up both goals against visiting Queen's Park inside 15 minutes on Tuesday night.
Bollan said: "We started the game like a house on fire which was very pleasing."
Winters cut through the defence after a through ball from David Sinclair before cueing up Liam Fox to score in the seventh minute in a blazing start.
He then showed quick thinking to waltz through the Queen's backline five minutes later to set up teenage sensation Andrew Halliday who shot home.
Cameron MacDonald then rescued Livi when he slid across the turf to deny Tony Quinn and Ryan Holmes at the other end.
Keaghan Jacobs almost made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute but his shot hit the post and Jason Talbot saw his effort brush an upright.
Jim Hamilton, making his second debut for the club after signing just before the deadline, was replaced by substitute Marc McNulty and received a standing ovation from the Livi faithful.
Livi kept up the pressure on the Spiders' goal as Jason Talbot's thunderbolt crept just wide before Livi fans had a scare when Halliday went clattering into the advertising boards following a challenge from Brian McBride.
A stretcher was called but Halliday returned to the action after treatment.
Stevie Tosh, also coming back to the club for his second spell, was also applauded as he came on to reacquaint himself at Almondvale.
By then, the Spiders had started to tire and Livi's fitness began to show through as Halliday went close once again.
Queen's keeper Hamilton was forced into a good save, before the bar came to their rescue from another strike from the youngster.
