Fan elected on to Lions' board

LIVINGSTON bosses have followed through on a promise to have fans' representation on their board by appointing Livi For Life Supporters Trust member David Stoker.

Mr Stoker, 32, polled the majority of votes in last Saturday's election to pip fellow trust member David Wilson to become the first-ever fan on the club's board of directors.

He is already well known around Almondvale and has been a dedicated fan of Meadowbank Thistle and Livingston for more than 20 years.

He has also been the editor of Livi's matchday programme Roar since 2002.

"It's a huge honour for me to be given the opportunity to join the board as the trust's first-ever representative and I'm looking forward to the challenges it brings.

"Livi For Life has played an important role in assisting the club to get back on its feet after everything that happened last season, and by honouring their promise to include a trust representative on the board, the club has strengthened the bond between the two significantly."

Chief executive Ged Nixon added: "As a club we have had a number of mountains to climb and I am looking forward to David adding a new dimension to the board.

"During our initial conversations as a board we decided that it was of paramount importance that bridges be built with our supporters."
