Rafa inspires Lions' fightback
LIVINGSTON manager Gary Bollan praised the depth of his squad after a thrilling comeback against Annan rescued three valuable points for the Third Division leaders.
Striker Raffaele De Vita replaced veteran Jim Hamilton at half-time as the Lions returned to the Almondvale pitch two goals in arrears, and the Italian's impact was almost immediate as he volleyed home after 53 minutes.
Bollan said: "I've got a good squad of youth and experience and I've got a few options up front. Rafa has got pace and is a different style of player to Jim. We need everyone to play their part as the season goes on."
Annan were leading 2-0 at half-time through Kevin Neilson's close-range strike and a David Cox effort. They were still ahead until the 74th minute when Robbie Winters cracked his ninth goal of the season to bring matters level.
Four minutes later teenager Andrew Halliday scored a fine solo goal to clinch victory and set up the Lions for Saturday's trip to second-placed East Stirling.
Bollan added: "The first half was disappointing and the players were told that. It was a good fightback all the same, but we should not be getting ourselves into the position of having to do that."
