AN INDIE band from Bathgate has wowed a judging panel to sail through the audition stage of a prestigious music competition.

Hardcore Wednesdays will compete against some of the most talented bands and artists in the country at the live shows of Live & Unsigned 2010 – all in a bid to get noticed in the music business.

The band has already battled against hundreds of wannabees to secure a spot in the final stages and now has the opportunity to prove that they are the best act around in a head-to-head battle in front of thousands of fans.

The band will now compete at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 13 Marchfor a slot at the Live & Unsigned Festival at London's 02 Arena.

Chris Grayston, events director of Live & Unsigned, said: "This competition really is worlds apart from X Factor and other TV contests – we're about originality, live ability and credibility."

The overall winner of the contest will be offered a recording and management contract with Future Music with an investment of up to £30,000 to release a single.
