A YOUNG mind reader hailed as the next Derren Brown is set to perform at Howden Park Centre next Friday.

Born and brought up in Harthill, Colin Mcleod studied forensic science at university before turning his skills into a performing art.

From an early age he was fascinated with hypnotism and tricks of the mind, travelling the world to perfect his skills.

One of his earliest appearances was at the Miss West Lothian event, but he now travels the world performing at major events such as the Edinburgh Festival.

He also devotes time each year to support a local charity and has agreed to perform for one night only in the Livingston venue following previous rave reviews.

Spoon bender Uri Gellar describes him as "one of the greatest thought readers of our time".

He will be supported by magician Gary James and stand-up comedian Gavin Oattes.
